Have you ever been in a situation where you asked yourself “would I ever be first?” I believe we all as women and men have been there before but afraid to admit it. If you have to question yourself about being first in someone’s life, you’re not putting yourself first in your own life. Nobody’s going to love you if you don’t love yourself. People oddly sense insecurities, damaged goods, lost souls and people who just don’t know what’s going on within.
Take a look in the mirror and be honest with yourself. Strip off your outside persona; your make-up, weaves, designer clothing and accessories… will you be who you are without that? Will you still feel the same about yourself without all of those things? Or do you need those things to validate who you are.
It takes humility (I may speak on this a lot because I am in the mist of learning this) to walk out in public in all bareness showing others who you really are AND not caring what they think. If you can be comfortable in your own skin, no one will ever treat you like you’re second or third and if you’re still not first, your confidence will not allow you to stay in such a predicament.
Once you learn to love yourself… the pressure of trying to please others will diminish and then completely vanish. We as the older generation have to set #SELFGOALS for the younger generation; to show them that they are beautiful with or without someone or material things. We as well have to be genuinely ok with our bare attitude! Can you take on that challenge… lets do it!
